How to Measure

Use our measuring guides below or contact our team for friendly advice before requesting a quote.

How to measure your floor

Before choosing your new carpet or flooring, you’ll need an estimate of your room size so we can provide an accurate quote. Measuring your floor doesn’t need to be complicated — follow our simple guide below to get started.

If you’re ever unsure, our team are always happy to help.

How to measure your floor

Measuring a rectangular room

For square or rectangular rooms, simply measure:

  • the longest length
  • the widest width

Use either:

  • metres
  • feet and inches

Add these measurements to our quote form and we’ll help calculate how much flooring you need.

Measuring an irregular shaped room

If your room has alcoves, bay windows, angled walls, or unusual shapes, don’t worry. Simply measure the two longest points of the room, both the maximum length and maximum width.

This helps us provide a more accurate estimate while allowing extra material for fitting and trimming.

Measuring stairs & hallways

For stairs, hallways, and landings, measurements can vary depending on layout and fitting style. If possible, provide:

  • stair width
  • number of stairs
  • hallway length and width

Our team can advise further once we receive your measurements.
